The package and its units: how Operations Center is counted

A one-time 5 USD add-on; each quantity enables one router, and the unit binds permanently to that device serial number.
The Operations Center is a paid add-on, not a base plan. This is the most important page to read before buying, because the counting rule is the part people get wrong.

The core rule: one quantity = one router
Each quantity you buy grants one unit, and a unit enables one router. Want the Operations Center on five routers? Order quantity 5.
It requires an active Karcsham Fi plan
This sits on top of your base subscription and does not replace it. Without an active Karcsham Fi plan the Operations Center will not work, however many units you own.
When is a unit spent? On first use, not at purchase
Buying units does not tie them to any device. They stay as balance on your account until you run your first real operation on a specific router; at that moment one unit is spent and bound to that router.
That works in your favour: buy today, decide later which devices to enable.
A unit binds to the device serial number — permanently
The binding is between your account and the router's serial number, not between your account and an IP address or a name in a list. That is deliberate:
Does NOT cost a new unit:
- Changing the router's address or connection port.
- Removing the router from your list and adding it again.
- Renaming the router.
- Coming back to the same router months later.
Does cost a new unit:
- A different physical device — because its serial number is different. Replacing a failed router with a new one spends a new unit.
> This is why a router's connection must be verified before its first operation: without a readable serial number the unit cannot be bound, and the system will ask you to verify the connection first.
What if my base plan lapses?
Access to the Operations Center stops, but your units and their bindings are preserved. Renewing your Karcsham Fi plan brings the section back exactly as it was, with no need to buy units again.
Can a unit be moved to another router?
No. The binding is permanent by design — that is precisely what guarantees that changing a device's address or re-adding it is never charged twice. To enable a new device, buy a new unit.
