Operations Center FAQ

Published: 2026-08-12

The common questions: visibility, refusals, moving a unit, and losing the link mid-operation.

Is the Operations Center a monthly subscription?

No. It is a one-time 5 USD payment per unit. It does require an active Karcsham Fi plan, which is the recurring part.

I bought one unit — does it cover all my routers?

No. One unit = one router. For five routers, order quantity 5.

When is the unit deducted?

On the first real operation against that router, not at purchase. Until then it stays as free balance.

I changed my router's address — do I pay again?

No. The binding is to the device serial number, not its address. Change the address, or remove and re-add the router, as often as you like.

I replaced the router with a new device

That is a different device with a different serial, so it spends a new unit.

Can I move a unit from one router to another?

No, the binding is permanent. That is the same property that protects you from being charged twice for changing an address or re-adding a router.

My base plan expired — do I lose my units?

No. Only access stops. Units and their bindings return unchanged when you renew.

Why was my router refused at preflight?

The common reasons:

  • It does not answer, or the tunnel is unhealthy.
  • Its serial is not recorded — verify the connection first.
  • Its clock is unset — run "Enable NTP time sync" first.
  • Not enough storage for an upgrade or a backup.
  • Its bootloader is behind before a RouterOS upgrade — run the bootloader upgrade first.
  • The device is already in the desired state — which is not a problem.

Every refusal names the cause and the next step.

The link dropped mid-operation

That exact case is what the automatic rollback is for. The timer installed inside the router restores the configuration on its own, and the target shows as "rolled back" in the panel.

Can I cancel a running operation?

Yes. A device that is mid-write is allowed to finish safely — cutting it off mid-write is the very danger the system prevents — and then no new device is started.

Can I run any MikroTik command?

No. The custom command is structured (path + fields), its risk is classified before it is allowed, and paths that could cut off device management are forbidden. That is what makes remote execution safe in the first place.

Can the Karcsham team see my routers?

Support access follows the usual account and delegation controls, and every operation is written to a log you can review: who ran it, when, against which device, and with what result.
